Dear Lan,

How are you ? I get more and more excited each day as each day brings 

me closer to meeting you! I am very excited! and a bit nervous too. 

This weekend I have been trying to get ready for when I will travel. I

have had my haircut and I have bought some shoes that will be very 

comfortable. Also I have been busy getting all my household chores 

done so that when I return everything will be done. And I will be 

trying hard to study as much Chinese as I can before I travel. I hope 

that I can speak some words to you in Chinese even if it is only a few

simple things.

I think that my ear is getting better each day. But on Monday I will 

make sure very carefully and I might see the doctor again to make 

sure. Also maybe I can get rid of the extra wax in my ear! It is very 

important that I can hear your voice! On Friday you said that you 

wanted to hear my voice so I did not know if you wanted me to call 

you. But I did not know when would be a good time or if you would 

prefer to talk to me when we meet. Then we can use the translation 

device!

I have also been thinking about what I should wear so that you can see

me easily at the airport. I have thought that if I wear a bright red 

long sleeved T-Shirt then you will be easily able to see me! Do you 

think that this will be a good idea ?

你还好吗？我一天比一天激动，每一天都离见到你的日子越来越近！我还有点紧张。。这个周末我就准备我的旅行了。我剪了头发，买了几双穿着很舒服的鞋子。饿现在一直都在忙我的家务事，这样当我回来的时候一切都会井然有序的。我也会提前尽我的最大努力学点中文。我希望我能给你说点中文，哪怕是一些最简单的话。

我觉得我的耳朵一天比一天好些了。我星期一定去再认真看一次医生。或许我可以把耳朵里剩余的蜡弄掉！能听到你的声音，这很重要。星期五你说你想听到我的声音，我不知道你是不是说你想让我给你打电话。但是我不知道什么时候比较适合，或者你更喜欢我们见面的时候跟我说话。我们可以使用翻译器！我在想，我们在机场见面的时候我应该穿什么这样你才比较容易认出我。我想如果我穿一件大红色的短袖T恤你可能会容易认出我！你觉得这个注意怎么样？

我这个星期真的很激动！我就快要见到你了！

很高兴收到你的来信，是的，还有不到5天的时间我们就要见面了，我在想，时间好像真的过得好快哦，呵呵。。一转眼就不到一个星期的时间了。好紧张啊，但是也很系带哦，呵呵。。。

 今天广州的天气开始热了，我们都已经穿上了短袖的衣服，呵呵。。。我想你来的时候带些短袖的T恤，冬天的衣服可以少带，带一件薄的外套，厚的外套基本上可以不用带，但是我知道在英国天气是较冷的，所以你就穿件毛衣上飞机，然后到广州了就脱掉了外套就好了

你的耳朵好点了吗？很高兴你会遵循医生的意见~！

当然如果我们不能很好的语言沟通的话，肢体语言会是一个很好的方式，一个动作，一个表情，有时候就能让对方明白自己在说什么，你觉得呢？

至于你来到广州你想要穿什么样的衣服呢？这个我也不知道哦，就穿着你喜欢的衣服，你觉得合适的，就可以了，你的样子我已经在脑海里面了，我相信我会第一时间认出你的，放心啦，呵呵。。无论你换上什么衣服，只要不要蒙上你的头，我相信我都能认出你~！

我已经吧你给我的两个号码都记载我的手机上了，到时候无论你用哪个号码给我电话我都会知道是你的，如果你的手机仍然可以发短信的话，你可以在英国机场的时候给我发给短信，告诉我你准备上飞机了，这样我就知道你已经开始了你的旅程了。

我上次说想听到你的声音，不是说让你给我电话，而是想要早点看到你，听到你的声音，呵呵

Dear Lan,

I am always very happy to receive your letter. Yes and now it is only 

4 days! I am nervous too and I have a lot of things that I must get 

ready this week! I must do some cleaning and things so that when I 

return there is not much for me to do! Also I must make sure that I 

have got everything ready. Also I must try and study hard! Okay I will

not be able to say much but hopefully I can say something even if it 

is Mandarin! Though I would like to hear your speech in Mandarin and 

Cantonese and English or any other language! hehehe

My ear is much better thank you. Of course I am following the doctor's

instructions and taking the medicine that was prescribed. I went to 

see the doctor today and she said that she could not remove the wax 

but I must soften it first so that she can remove it. I will do this 

when I get back as it takes on week of using olive oil to put inside 

my ear. So I must wait until after I return and hopefully this will 

prevent the problem again.

Don't worry I will wear comfortable clothes most of the time. I just 

hope I can find something that you like as well. We will have to see! 

Of course I will carry you photos with me and I will study them 

carefully. I am sure that you must see me first though! Maybe I might 

see you before you see me! hehehe

Of course I will send you a message before my plane leaves England! 

But it will be very late at nigh for you. I am not sure I can send any

message when I am waiting in the middle at Dubai. But when I arrive I 

will try to send message to you from both numbers.

Ahh I see. I though that you wanted me to call you as you were asking 

about my area code!

Of course I will pass on your best wishes to my mum! Please pass on my

best wishes too!

收到你的信我一直都很开心。是的，现在只剩下四天了！我也好紧张。这个星期我有很多的东西要去准备！我得搞下清洁工作，这样等我回来的时候就没有那么多要做的了！我也得确定我把哟切都准备好了。还有我得努力学习中文！我不会说那么多，但是希望我能说点，即使是中国普通话！尽管这样我还是想听到你说普通话，广东话和英语，以及其他语言！呵呵。。

我的耳朵现在好些了，谢谢你。当然我会遵照医嘱吃医生开的药的。我今天去看了医生，她说她不能把蜡弄掉，但我必须把它弄软然后拿掉它。我回来的时候再做，因为这需要花一个星期的时间把玉兰油放在耳朵里。所以我要等到回来的时候弄，希望这可以再次防止这个问题。

别担心，我大多时间都会穿舒服的衣服。我只是希望我也能找到你喜欢的。我们快见面了。当然我得拿着你的照片，我回认真研究以下它们。我相信你肯定会先看见我！也许我会在你看见我之前看见你！呵呵呵。。

当然我会我会在我的飞机离开英国的时候给你发短信的！

但是对你来说那会很晚了。我不确定我会在迪拜中部等飞机的时候给你发信息，但是我到了一定会用两个号码给你发的！啊，我知道了。我觉得你是想给我打电话因为你在问我的区号！

   很高兴，还有3天我们就要见面，只是3天了，真的很激动哦，呵呵。。我现在在想我第一句跟你说的话会是什么恩？也许是“hello，I am huang shao Lan ,nice to meet you .”也许是”hi ,David ,you are so handsome ,welcome to guangzhou ”,还不知道会是什么样呢，我现在都已经很紧张了，希望可以很快就能看到你，但是有时候又怕连第一句话都紧张的说不出来，呵呵。。。你现在的心情应该跟我是一样的吧。我们见面的时候你第一句话会说什么呢？

听到你的耳朵好点了，我真的感到很高兴，一定要遵循医生的嘱咐，知道吗？医生有没有说如果你来中国的话，要注意什么东西呢？不能吃什么呢？我要做好笔记哦，到时候不能忘记了，呵呵。。

现在英国的天气好点那真的是太好了，不过无论怎么样，现在英国的天气还是比广州最冷的时候都要冷吧，广州冬天的温度最热的时候基本上都有30°C哦，呵呵。。中午如果又太阳的话，那温度会有32°C的，呵呵。。。现在已经是夏天了，现在的温度是30°C左右，呵呵。。所以你要准备好短袖的T恤。呵呵。。。

Dear Lan

I am very happy that we will meet in just 2 days no counting today! I 

am very excited and busy! I must make sure that I have done a lot of 

things so that I am ready to travel to you. Yes I think that my first 

word to you must be "你好。你叫兰

吗？ 我叫David" Or maybe I should say 

"You are more beautiful than in your photos". I hope that you do speak

or how will I know it is really you ? I am nervous too if that is 

comfort to you. I think that we both have the same feeling!

My ear is better! But it still gets blocked a little if water gets in 

my ear after I shower. The doctor did not say anything about China. 

Though the travel nurse I saw a few weeks ago remember told me I did 

not need to take any medicine. I just need to take some spray to stop 

mosquitos biting me. As I don't want to get Malaria I have bought two 

sprays worth that should work! I know that I don't like stinky tofu! 

So I don't know if that helps you work out what I like to eat.

I think that people might think it strange if I walk around in a T-

Shirt as I feel warm when everyone else is wearing warm clothes!

我很开心不算今天只有两天的时间我们就可以见面了！我很激动也很忙碌。我必须确定我准备好了来见你旅途的很多东西。是的，我第一句话可能会是：“你好。你叫黄兰吗？我叫大卫，或者我应该说：“你比照片里面更漂亮”。我希望你还是要说话，不然我怎么知道是不是真的是你？我也很紧张，如果这能让你宽慰一点的话。我想我们都有一样的感觉。

我的耳朵好些了，但是洗澡的时水弄进耳朵的时候感觉还是有点堵。医生没有说关于去中国的任何东西。但是我记得几周前一个旅行护士告诉我说不用吃任何药，只需要打点喷剂来防止蚊子要我。为了不得疟疾，我带了两瓶喷剂应该够用了！我知道我不喜欢吃臭豆腐！因此我不知道这是否能让你了解我喜欢吃的东西。

我想当我穿着觉得暖和的T恤走来走去的时候人们是不是会觉得奇怪，因为别人都穿着暖和的衣服！

Dear Lan,

How are you doing Huang Lan ? I am David and I am happy to receive

your letter! I am also so happy to meet you in just 1 day! Oh? Which 

photos do you think I am talking about ? I only have 5 just now. I 

like the more natural ones of you very much as well as the beauty 

ones. Oh? I am supposed to guess what your lines to me will be ? You 

must speak to me when we meet! I will be nervous if you are just

 silent!

Yes I must pack a lot tonight and get ready! I must take a lot of time

to prepare to make sure that I have everything that I will possibly 

need! So I might possible over prepare! As I have never been this far 

south before ?

Well unfortunately I can only reply by saying I like Chinese food! I 

know I don't like stinky tofu as I have liked everything else I had 

tried. Also I have no idea what the names of any food I have eaten is 

called as I had never ordered any of the food I had eaten in 

restaurant. So we will discover what I like as we go!

I will make sure that I have a selection. As I am packing today and 

making sure I have everything!

I am nervous and excited more and more! But I must be busy now packing

everything and getting ready. When I am on my way each second brings 

us closer together and I become more and more excited!

我得确定我有选择性的带东西。今年天准备的时候确保什么都弄好了！

我越来越紧张和激动了！但是我现在得忙着收拾一切了，把它们都准备好。当我在路上的时候，没一秒都在拉近我们的距离！我越来越激动了！

臭豆腐不是广州的特产，所以，你不用担心我会带你去吃臭豆腐，你喜欢吃辣的吗？喜欢什么样的口味呢？

我知道我给你发了哪些照片，但是明天我们就能见到真实的对方了，不再需要通过照片来想念对方了，呵呵。。。

Dear Lan,

I am busy preparing now for the flight! I am very very excited and 

nervous too! Yes I have the same feeling as you.  I will be carrying 

my translator handily too. So I will try and speak to you but my poor 

Chinese has not got far enough to talk much! You will be my teacher 

and I can be yours!

Darling do not worry I will not laugh at you. I hope that you don't 

laugh at me either. I will be nervous to use my poor Chinese! But I 

think that I must smile a lot when I see you! I have prepared to carry

a lot of T-Shirts and some few warmer clothes just in case!

I am relieved that stinky tofu is not a speciality! I like to eat hot 

food! I have eaten Sichuan and Yunnan food. I have even eaten some 

chilli but not the hot ones I think! I like lots of different food.

Yes I think that it will be better to see the real you than just a 

photo. I can't hold a photo sweetly! Of course I don't mind if you 

take a friend to meet me! I am eager to see you!

I love you too Lan. I must take care of your heart well it is so 

precious to me! You know that my heart has also gone to you and I am 

coming to reunited our hearts. I am a bird for you! Though I might be 

a tired bird at first when you see me!

Now I must finish doing the packing before I can leave! I AM SO
